Is it legit? One question per storefront

This is the question everyone types. Here it is asked 62 times, alphabetically, with the seal from each file beside it. A dashed seal means no seal: the storefront is closed or would not open for us.

Answered from the file
What does "legit" mean on this desk?

That the storefront's claims survive a reading of its own documents and the public record: an outside laboratory is named, a certificate opens for anyone and refers to a specific lot, the company can be found by address or phone, research-use labeling is present, no regulator has written to it, and the storefront is operating. Eight checks, each stamped.

A name I am looking for is not here. Why?

Either we have not opened a file on it or it does not sell research peptides. Send its address and the address of its testing page to the corrections desk and it goes into the queue.

Does a high seal mean a product is safe or suitable?

No. The seal describes the company's paperwork and conduct, not its products, which we do not test. Every storefront here sells material labeled for laboratory research use only, and this desk says nothing about any other use.
